Petition to categorize E.T. as a horror movie, because that thing looks messed up for real

Thank you for your attention on this important matter, I promise this is only going to take 5 minutes of your time!

I’m here today with an important message. A mission to protect our children, our minds, and our safety. We are being attacked at home and it is through that fucked up “kid’s movie” E.T. by Steven Spielberg.

I still remember my first experience with E.T. My mom was like “you’re going to love this” and the minute I saw that disfigured horror character on the screen I turned to her with tears in my 8-year-old eyes and said “I am not

E.T. is terrifying. He’s a creepy little demon creature and we have all been gaslit by Steve Spielberg into thinking that E.T. is cute. He is not. He’s a demon entity.

Images of E.T. are terrifying young children around the globe and I can prove it because I just googled it to see if anyone had the same thoughts that I did, and some people on Reddit have posted about this too. (Which, side note, damn does that mean my content isn’t fresh?)

Not only is he gross to look at, but he’s also got that gross voice. It sounds like he’s on death’s door when he speaks and I don’t think that children should have to be educated on death so early in life! The way he says “phone home” makes me want to cry heavily in a twin bed with the covers pulled tightly over my head (which was exactly what I did after I saw E.T. for the first time)

E.T. also sends a bad message. I couldn’t take in most of the movie because I was busy staring at the carpet in front of the screen and trying desperately to not see what was happening…but I’m pretty sure he attacked some people on earth and hid in a kid’s closet and scared him?? And then escaped from the authorities?? What type of message is this teaching our children? Kid’s movies should only teach good life lessons and it makes no sense at all that E.T. is categorized as “family fun”

He’s also stealing letters from the LGBTQ people. E.T.??? T??? The T is already in use by the Trans community, you alien bitch! You can’t just claim it for your name! Try being an ally, could you? It’s honestly disgraceful.

Please, please join me in cancelling E.T. and maybe even Steven Spielberg himself. I would love it if we could wipe the entire movie from existence, but I will settle for an online petition, a trending hashtag about this situation, and a public apology from the Spiel-ster himself.

If you want to share any traumatic experiences you have from watching E.T. as a child, the comment section is open below and it is a safe space! I’m here for you.

Until the next one,
S
